Selling on the cashier
- Point of Sale
- Restaurant & café cashier
Signing in
- Open the cashier on the device.
- First time only: choose the branch, then the point of sale if the branch has several devices. The device remembers your choice.
- Enter your 4-digit PIN.
If you see "No point of sale set up yet", ask your system manager to set up the cashier.
When you step away, click Lock screen so nobody can sell under your name.
Open the shift first
Before the first sale of the day, open the shift and enter the cash in the drawer. See Shifts.
Taking an order
- Choose a category at the top, or search by item name. Switch between grid and list view.
- Tap the item. If it has modifiers, a window opens:
- Options marked Required must be chosen.
- Adjust quantity with the plus and minus buttons.
- Add a kitchen note, e.g. no sugar.
- Tap Add to order.
- Items with an open price ask you to enter the price when picked.
- The order appears on the side with discount, VAT and total.
Order type and table
Choose the order type: Dine-in, Takeaway or Delivery. For dine-in, pick the table from the table map, or No table.
Customer
Orders go to the walk-in customer by default. To add a customer, tap Customer:
- Search by name or mobile, or pick from recent customers.
- Or add a new customer. For a VAT-registered business, enter the VAT number and full address (building number, district, city, postal code) to issue them a tax invoice.
Saving and sending to the kitchen
Tap Save order. It's kept under Open orders and sent to the kitchen if kitchen sending is on. Sent items are marked In kitchen.
- If you add items to the same order later and save, only the new ones are sent.
- You can't reduce a quantity already sent to the kitchen from the cashier; reduce it from the kitchen first.
- You can name the order, e.g. Ahmed – takeaway, to find it easily.
When the kitchen marks the order ready, the cashier gets a Ready in kitchen alert.
Open orders
Tap Open orders to see saved, unpaid orders. Filter by My orders, Staff orders or All orders, and tap one to continue or pay it.
Order options
From the order's Options button:
| Option | When to use |
|---|---|
| Order discount | A percentage or amount off the order total |
| Split order | A table paying with two bills: choose the quantity that moves to a new order |
| Merge orders | Guests moved to one table, or two orders for the same customer |
| Pro-forma invoice | Print the bill for the customer before payment (not a tax invoice) |
| Cancel order | Deletes the saved order, and removes it from the kitchen display too |
Selling offline
If the connection drops, a banner shows No internet · selling continues:
- You can keep selling and taking cash. Orders stay on the device and upload automatically when the connection is back, without duplicates.
- The card terminal and PIN check need internet.
- Don't close the browser or clear its data until orders have uploaded.
