Shifts

A shift ties all cashier sales to a work period and employee, and reconciles the actual cash in the drawer with what should be there.

Opening a shift

  1. On the cashier tap Shift. It shows Shift closed.
  2. Count the cash in the drawer and enter it as Cash in drawer at shift start.
  3. Tap Open shift.

Cash in and out during the shift

To record any cash movement that isn't a sale, such as topping up change or taking cash for an urgent purchase:

  1. From Shift choose Cash in or Cash out.
  2. Enter the amount and reason.

Always record these, or a difference will appear at closing.

The shift screen shows at any time:

When there's a difference

Check the receipts: a card payment recorded as cash by mistake, or an unrecorded cash-out, are the most common causes.
