Accounting in Rowdx

Accounting is the heart of the system. Every transaction in other modules (a sales invoice, a goods receipt, a payroll run) posts its own accounting entry automatically on submission, so nothing needs re-entering in the books.

Key concepts

Draft, submitted, cancelled

Every financial document goes through three states:

StateMeaning
DraftSaved, no accounting effect; can be edited or deleted
SubmittedPosted to the books; cannot be edited
CancelledIts effect reversed; kept for the record

To correct a submitted document: Cancel it, then click Amend to create a linked corrected copy and submit that.

The dashboard reminds you

Draft invoices that haven't been submitted appear under Needs your attention on the dashboard.

Party (customer or supplier)

Receivable and payable accounts are control accounts. The transaction is recorded against the party, so each customer and supplier has a separate statement while the control account shows the total.

Cost centers

Every accounting line can carry a cost center (branch, department, project), giving you a P&L per branch. See Cost centers & budgets.
