included in the Business and Enterprise plans
Rowdx has two ways to sell to a customer in instalments; pick what fits your business:
| Method | For | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Invoice instalments | A shop selling goods and spreading the balance (furniture, devices, training courses) | Instalment the balance button on the sales invoice |
| Loans | Financing and instalment companies granting amounts with interest or profit and collateral | The Lending & instalments module |
Instalments on an invoice
The simplest and most used; no setup needed.
- Submit the sales invoice as usual. If the customer paid a down payment, record it as a payment.
- On the invoice, payment section: Instalment the balance.
- Enter:
- Number of instalments.
- Frequency: monthly, every two weeks, weekly.
- First instalment date.
- Customer mobile for reminders.
- Remind the customer automatically and remind before due by (3 days by default).
- Approve instalments: the balance is split into equal instalments (rounding difference on the last one), and the schedule shows on the invoice.
After setting instalments
- Collecting: record any customer payment against the invoice as usual, or send a payment link. Each amount paid covers instalments in order from the oldest, and each instalment's status (due, partly paid, paid, overdue) updates automatically.
- Automatic reminders: before the due date by the set number of days, on the due date, and three days after it's overdue. Sent by WhatsApp if WhatsApp is enabled, otherwise by email, once per reminder.
- Staff alerts: the bell shows what's due today and what's overdue every day.
- Send schedule on WhatsApp: a button on the invoice sends the instalment schedule to the customer.
- Cancel instalments: from the invoice; recorded payments stay as they are.
Follow all instalments in Accounting → Sales & receivables → Customer instalments, filtered by status or next due date. The Collections screen in the same group gathers all overdue amounts with reminder buttons.
